The activities will be carried out in the Zala and Međimurje County area. The main target groups included in the project are: local authorities, political decision-makers, administrative services and institutions and anyone who is in any way involved in local and regional development and planning.
As part of the project three development documents will be created (one umbrella document and two sector-specific documents): a Science Networks Support Strategy, a Tourist Destination Management Study, and a Strategic Marketing Plan for Tourism Development. An additional document will define the main priorities and goals of cross—border area development. Conferences, project meetings, and workshops on site will be held, articles will be published in newspapers, graphic material will be prepared and planning documents printed. The Internet website will be designed in three languages.
By creating the Strategic Marketing Plan of Tourism Development for the Međimurje County area the unique image of the region will be defined. Research and analysis during the design of this document will include: creating a land-registry and a map of potential and existing tourist attractions as well as an image, competitiveness and benchmarking analysis. The strategy will reflect the marketing plans according to products, an implementation plan and preparation of groundwork for designing a joint image-brand. Creating the Strategic Marketing Plan of Tourism Development will be a participative process which will therefore include meetings with experts arranged for the purposes of document design, as well as a workshop for around 40 participants and focus groups up to 10 participants.
