Results expected after the project is implemented:
A better understanding of the factors of regional development through a description of needs and joint opportunities for development, as well as generating new project ideas for future cross-border projects
– The project will be of use to non-government associations that also create and implement projects, as well as to entrepreneurs from the field of tourism
– Through a participative process of creating and implementing planning documents, the public will be directly involved and will gain an insight into development processes of the area they inhabit
– Increase in competitiveness of the cross-border area in the sector of tourism and the economy in general

The following results are expected from the creation of the Strategic Marketing Plan of Tourism Development for the Međimurje County area:
An elaborate quality tourism strategy in accordance with the best practices of creating strategic documents in the EU, which will form a foundation for setting further goals in tourism development in Međimurje
– The definition of the most efficient marketing tools for increasing the recognisability of the County, a designed marketing and implementation plan, and a created visual identity-brand of Međimurje
– The definition of a proposal for measurements in tourism development for the purposes of financing projects from EU funds
– Secured foundations for efficient tourist destination management based on general trends of rural development and EU policies
